Street scene - # 08/164

Workmen at lunch, the two Japanese tourists, the tourist taking photos, the officer checking out a group of youths wearing the standard youth's uniform, the passenger coming out of the station.

  1. Do you mean it's nice enough to eat outdoors? Great because I'm coming over to the UK for a few days...would appreciate some nice weather.

  3. A nice little scene! When you see the houses in the background, you know immediately in which country you are!

  4. On first glance, this photo looks unpromising. However I spent quite a time going over it and it ends up rather interesting. It's in the details. Reminds me of something, it's almost like some of Jeff Walls constructions which on the face it are humdrum, but are actually fastidious in the arrangement. I know what it is - it's like a model, a maquette. You know when you build train sets and put in all the little figures and buildings, frozen doing something or other. Yes, that's it

  5. I was going to say this reminds me of a model used on a model railroad set.

  6. @Richard & @Abe & @Peter.....now that's interesting and rewarding for me. I took about 3 or 4 shots from different positions. I wanted to capture exactly that...England (absolutely - nowhere else) and (tks Richard and Abe) that "toytown" effect, which struck me, and inspired my simple description of it in the text.

  8. Great description! I had to enlarge the photo to identify all the characters you mentioned.

  9. "Fish Bar." We certainly don't have those in New York! Nice street scene.

  10. Good shot & very unusual in that there's no pigeons about and hardy any litter. Are you sure it's England!
