From the Dogger Bank to Trafalgar via Tyne, and right across the Med - # 09/161

Hugely bad weather sweeps across the whole of Europe and the British Isles - torrential rain and wind.

So here's a rather dramatic looking shot of the Les Alpes Maritimes behind Menton taken last Summer.

  2. This is an outstanding photo. Love the layers and shades of colour! The scene is beautifully composed.

  4. It looks quite dramatic, but, remember, the weather was nice! :-)

  5. Well how about that! You could be here in Menton and about to go to Le Balico for dinner tonight! Love the photograph - with those palms I thought for a second a camel might walk into the scene but then I noticed the architecture.

Thought you'd like to know we had TORRENTIAL rain yesterday and the day before. Today is fine tho, as per normal. Come back soon, dear Chuckeroon.

  6. Hi Stuart! Wow! And you had the palms prepared for X-mas already in summer... ;))
Old Town Bilbao is now at Blogtrotter for your joy. Have a great week!!

PS: We can't say we had «hugely» bad weather; just some rain and 17º Celsius temperature... And we are Europe, as you could see on TV with the ceremony for the entering into force of the Lisbon Treaty... ;))

  7. This is just a wonderful, wonderful photograph. WOW~!! And I love your choice of monochrome. Just perfect in my humble opinion. Sorry about your weather. It's none better here. I managed to take my long walk this afternoon but I waded across mud puddles and wore a baseball hat to keep the wind from whipping this gray hair out of my head! :)
