Richmond upon Thames: the view from London's "Arcadia" along the River Thames in Southwest London.
"Healthy working environment"..............just imagine these, all belching coal smoke on a winter's day. Today, the chimney stacks on these 19th century cottages on the edge of Richmond add interest and colour to the urban roofscape.

J'imagine surtout la danse des ramoneurs à la "Mary Poppins", ou tout du moins la ronde des chats. Seuls ces deux catégories d'êtres vivants tutoient les antennes et les nuages sur les toits (un beau ciel)
ReplyDeleteHi Stuart! This is amazing; it remembers my first trip to England in 1973. I was struck by this kind of roofline... ;)
ReplyDeleteBlogtrotter is anticipating the 4th of July fireworks; but in a different country... ;) Have a great weekend (or vacation, should you have that chance...)!
What a great photo! Absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat an English photo! We don't have any thing looking like that in our "young" city of Eagan. Nice shot Chuckeroon! Ever called the Chuckster?
ReplyDeleteSadly the wide open spaces of metropolitan South Africa are startingto look like that too. It just does not get cold enough to warrant a fireplace, so no chimneys on the horizon. Great Photo
