Holiday postcard - Richmond Hill viewed from Ham - # 51/10
I originally thought that the famous "squatter's river-pontoon dwelling" could be seen on the right of the river - BUT see "rob's uncle" comment below. I must take the telephoto lens and study it closer. (I've posted the photo full-size, so you can enlarge it with a couple of clicks to view what I thought was the enlarged squatter's pontoon at your leisure).
'roon, you will have to keep us informed on the squatter. I love how you have framed this photo and the sky looks as if it was painted! Sweet little rowboat too.
ReplyDeleteThe river-pontoon dwelling has disappeared but the bird islands remain, as the wood dump on the footpath; I haven't seen Ian, its occupier, about, either, so I do not know what has become of him. he has a place to live on terra firma not far away, I believe.
ReplyDeleteWell I think it tis a lovely sight my friend. I"m so glad you're out and about bringing us your wonderful photographs again. I hope all is well in your house.

@rob's uncle........important news! I must admit that because of my inability to walk far, I have not been close to that end of the river. The pontoon certainly looked "different". Now you've explained. I realise it's 3 or 4 boats tied together. I was mislead by the bit of blue canvass.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!
