The Lemon Tree - # 47/10



....continuing the Hot n' Cool theme of Richmond and Kingston this Summer.  Yes, lemons grow at Ham House.

  3. C'est une image qui me plait beaucoup, avec comme touche de couleur juste le jaune des citrons et les petits sabots roses sous la table.
    L'idée aussi me plait bien de se dépayser et se délasser dans une végétation inhabituelle. Les citronniers sont en Angleterre comme à Cergy des plantes dites d'orangerie, à rentrer en hiver. A Berlin ce sont nos vulgaires lauriers sauce, ceux dont on met les feuilles pour parfumer le pot au feu, qui sont rentrés précieusement en hiver dans les serres du château de Charlottenburg.

  5. @Jilly....Yes, this is a classic 17th C Orangery site. Just like you see elsewhwere in Northern climes, e.g. Versailles. One of the gardeners at Ham has taken special responsibility for the citrus and that's one reson why they are looking so good this year thanks to special feeding and well researched care and attention.
