Muscat Moments 19 - # 15/2011

Looking down into Old Muscat from the old town gate fortifications. The buildings are not so "old" but the surroundings and site are impressive.  Today the watch towers vie with the mobile phone towers on the mountain peaks.  The Sultan has decreed that there should be no high rise buildings to spoil the views.  Muscat is a "low level" townscape - and very much better off for that.
