Crossing over (Transition from Winter to Spring) - 6 - # 42/2011

The sun is out and Spring really is in the air (within 200 square meters I counted 8 photographers).


Looking west from the escarpment at Richmond Park we get a clear view of Ham House beside the river.  When the trees are in leaf it will be almost invisible except to those who know where to look, and for what.

Muscat Moments 12 - # 8/2011

Take pity on Menton DP where the sunshine has disappeared and the grey clouds reign.


Here is the fishermen's beach at Sur, 2/12 hrs south of Muscat.  There is also a dhow construction yard building dhows to the traditonal designs that are still perfect for modern-day cargo trading in the region.

Dear old Rumsfeldt will at least be remembered for giving us this neat concept.

Here, the weather is foul, with almost permanent 10/10 thick grey rain cloud cover. Recently there was a sudden clearance, and low and behold, at 33,000 feet these three contrails presented me with a simple and enjoyable little snap. They were there all the time, but I didn't know until the clouds cleared. (Well, sort of. You know what I mean).

Richmond riverside on a hot day - # 08/105

Last Saturday was unusually hot for the time of year, a bit muggy and soporific and although the sun was strong, there was a bit of "London Overcast" which is normal in these conditions.

A whole battalion of tourists and locals are seen here enjoying the delights of the riverside. "Personal Space" was ignored as we all ambled along the tow path, jostled and dodged each other, a bit like busy ants .......... (The real ants decided that this was the moment to invade my kitchen. Ants obviously have highly advanced communication skills.)

P.S. look closely near the bottom and you will see one of the bizarre and poignant rose stems I showed in the post of a few days ago.
