Another one in Teddington High St. Look closely. You will see there are two front doors. One for the shop and one beside it for the flat above the shop. Painting the roof decoration (which is made of wood) must be a nightmare.

ReplyDeleteCette façade est cependant une merveilleuse trouvaille, je ne sais comment vous faites de l'autre coté du Channel pour arriver à des empilements aussi improbables.
La frise est-elle réellement en pierre ou est ce un moulage de béton ?
(Il paraitrait que les Egyptiens faisaient des pierres reconstituées pour leurs pyramides)
@Cergi......I suspect that the frieze is made of a moulded reconstituted stone, fired in a kiln and very hard. There is too much work in it for hand carving, and the houses of the time were all decorated like this.
