Studies in glass 4 - # 08/85
I dithered over B&W or colour, but in the end decided that it MUST be colour.
There are (I think) two or three images here. Direct images and reflections within reflections.
This is the waiting area in the gigantic new Eurostar terminal at St. Pancras Station, London. The glass separates the area from the escalators rising to the railway tracks above. The white pillars are the original Victorian built iron support columns.
The color makes this shot, which is so layered with images. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think that colour is the best choice here.
ReplyDeleteYes, this has to be in color! Great picture!
ReplyDeleteOh, my...quite an improvement over the Waterloo Terminal, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of reflections - have you checked out my post of last Wednesday?
I wondered what the Eurostar terminal looked like, so thank you. Fascinating photo with all those layers - had to be colour!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me it works so well as you eye sees first the people, then moves up and then up further but all the levels seem to have equal importance.
Sure I'm not explaining what I mean but it's a compliment!
A wonderful shot just as it is. You were right about the color.
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested in the reasoning behind "must be in colour"
