I enjoy "Stand-up". It's often a bit crude (and sometimes it's unnecessarilly crude). It's certainly not "politically correct" and that's good in a world where political correctness has got out of hand and needs a rap on the nuckles.
I have to thank the comedians at the Ram Jam Club at the Grey Horse in Kingston for kindly allowing me to photograph them in action, using only "available light" . This is the most charismatic image I captured during a laughter-filled Friday night.
I am greatly attracted to rooflines in towns. Living high up in an attic also has a similar attraction. You can gaze out over the roof tops like a falcon, spotting your prey. (This photo also treats you to a good view of that "Great British Institution", the Surviellance Camera. There's an absolute masterpiece of the art on the pole, looking out for it's victim in all directions and angles at one quick glance of its multiple eyes.)

The late Victorian Terrace.......there are millions of houses in streets like this all over England. The remarkable thing (for me, at least) is the attention to pretty details. In one sense the rows and rows of little boxes all close together are a bit scary, but look at the pretty details. "Elegant Living" for the masses, decency and church on Sundays: imperial confidence.
Midday in Muscat 25 degrees v Midday in Kingston 2.5 degrees. The melancholy of the winter walk in an English town. Grey, quiet, the thronging and popular in Summer shut down chairs stacked and windows blank and empty in winter. The warm coats, the hats, the socks and boots. Thinking of getting home, lighting the fire and toasting crumpets and making hot tea.

Come to think of it this would make a very nice B&W print. However, it's done now, so I'm not going to change it.
This is one of my favourite views of Kingston town centre. I really enjoy the harmony, the proportions, the human scale and overall shaping of the buildings and the way the street curves and gives a glimpse into the next one, and so on. When I'm in Kingston I like to just stop for a moment and slowly take it in.
It's getting late on the 29th October, so things are rather grey. But the town is still lively.
Snapping a street musician in Kingston, I was surprised by the result.
White water: dark glasses. A bit fuzzy (the boat was moving fast), but I was immediately attracted to the contrast between the dark glasses and the bow wave. I felt that everything came together to make a package that is "well cool" even "wicked". Doesn't the vernacular move fast!
These two are definitely out of step ;-).
(This is getting to be a habit; it's time I stopped).
A tiny bit of post-processing, but on the whole "as it came" straight out of the camera, and I'm pleased. The lads buying the sun glasses were pleased too: choosing and posing. "How do I look?"
Continuing the series of people, animals and water-borne homes at Kingston we have the dog wearing his regulation British/European/International Standard Compliant life jacket. It is a very hot day. The brollies are to keep the sun off. The villa in the background is the one seen from a distance in yesterday's "train crossing bridge" shot.

There's no denying it. The converted barges moored alongside what were once the old Kingston industrial wharves for wood, coal, leather and brewers' malt and barley are much loved and well cared for homes. They make a colourful show at any time of year.
