Ah, yes. I remember Menton - # 08/287

http://menton-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2008/12/menton-christmas-sunshine-at-last.html

636 miles away.

Compare the colours, the humidity, the temperature. Mull it over inside your head. Think of place and time and circumstance and how they affect what you do and who you are, and what you become.

.....scene walking beside the Thames approaching Kingston Bridge coming upriver from Richmond.

  1. I think it is well expressed daily view with very beautiful pictures.

  2. You weren't gone for long - pining for the damp and cold stretches of the Thames maybe?

  3. Well....! That didn't take long. Of course, we are all delighted.

Grey days, blue-skied days. Yesterday, Menton - sunshine. Today, Menton and it's p...ing down with rain. You are so right though, we are who we are because of where we live.

I find beauty in your photograph of the towpath and the man seeming to enjoy his walk, looking around him, perhaps he's seen a particular bird?

Rain anywhere tho, and especially greyness gets me down. Doubtless it gets everyone down.

Here's to spring or to a crisp winter day with clear skies.

  4. We've had similar days here. It does wear on you. Thankfully here not as many as in your corner of the world. Nice scene today. The man does look like he is enjoying his walk as Jilly said. Ahhh Menton. I dream of it as well.

  7. For me it is Nice I yearn for. My head and my heart dictate my photography so I can bypass my surrounding unless I want to show the brutal reality. For me this image could be a walk along the Left Bank, Paris and that's what I enjoy from it.

  8. Happy to see that you didn't make a too long break! Menton, Nice, Paris, Venice... it's all nice, but many of us would also dream about a walk along the Thames!!
