Wild flowers in Petersham 2 - # 163
It's time to celebrate the delights of the open meadow and wild garden. The early spring was dry and the wild flower spectrum in May was less spectacular than last year. This June/July, the intense rains are giving extra force to the later sorts.
... and I guess a little bit of sunshine helped. I watched Tour de France, Wimbledon, Silverstone this weekend, so I know that you at last got some sun back!

Ha! - I was glued to the telly like Peter. Yes it's a bit late for the spring flower meadow display, but this is a nice reminder. Switzerland is also plagued by rain - let up for a day or so for the Züri Fäscht, but settled back again now. Very unusual in my 7 years here to have such an extended period of wet weather. Of course I blame George Bush... oh, and Tony Blair
ReplyDeleteThe "lead butt" is actually a concrete trough, like a mini fountain, really. I'll watch out for wheat. Could they have been the seedlings that were being planted? The weather here, as Richard notes, hasn't been very sunny so I wonder about the state of the crops.
