Richmond upon Thames: the view from London's "Arcadia" along the River Thames in Southwest London.
The lanterns on the late 19th/early 20th century construction of Richmond Lock on the Thames are remarkably good looking.

Beautiful work. Looks to be in good condition.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. Lovely ironwork and lamps. I love the way such care was taken in those days to make a practical object attractive too.
ReplyDeleteAmazing bridge! And the lamp is equally amazing. I'd guess that a spherical glass shape like that is probably quite strong, to last out the decades.

Wonderful bridge!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I've walked across here many times in the past, on the way from the Ailsa to the Swan, and admired the ironmongery of the lock, I never ever saw these lamps - and they are quite something
