Harriers in the Park - # 08/248

A large running club out for an afternoon of masochistic enjoyment.

The runners make a fine contrast as they string out and move up towards the 18th century mansion that houses the Royal Ballet School in the centre of Richmond Park.

(A difficult exposure with all the shadows and contrasts, but it came out nicely.)

  1. Indeed it came out nicely. I like the colorful line contrasted with all the green and then that spectacular mansion, the prize??? I can't seem to get that light/dark exposure thing right. It's either too dark or I blow out the lighter areas.

  2. Got my critics hat on this morning Chucker, and boy is it a grumpy morning... I'd like to see it cropped square, losing about a third of the right hand side. My eye just follows that patch of sunlight into the rather empty right hand side and falls right off the edge of the page. Ideally the composition should follow the line of runners up to the house. (That's what you get for offering to crop one of my photos!)

  6. Yes, always a fight with light and dark zones. Sometimes it's easier to take pictures when it's cloudy. Well, don't expect the same kind of critics from me as from Richard! :-)) I'm not qulified!
