Richmond upon Thames: the view from London's "Arcadia" along the River Thames in Southwest London.
....a perfect October day, with brilliant sun, declining in the west - ideal photographer's light.
People enjoying the river and the sun, pigeons "doing their thing" - I am really using these as a back-drop in an attempt to photograph shadows.

very nice...this is turning in to one of the best autumns I can remember. It's good to see that people are making the most of it, still sitting outside and enjoying the fresh weather, flying rats etc.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I know that place, just by the bridge. Wasn't today perfect. There was also a wonderful sunset. Shame I had to work today.
ReplyDeleteI love that pigeon! Great action shot. it really does look like a perfect fall day...
ReplyDeleteHa! - have you seen that guy in the background on the left - it looks like he has his head stuck in the lady's backside (what was it someone said the other day about "the lowest common denominator!).
ReplyDeleteShouldn't all these people be at work or something?
Because I am a technical ignoramus, I always go for late afternoon or early morning light to make my photos look decent.
I was so proud of the photo of shadows I took recently til I realized I was in it.

(I'm not on holidays yet, we leave tomorrow morning.)
The whole shot looks like it could be an 1900 century romantic painting.

You obvioulsy have some fantastic autumn days, like here in Paris. A compensation for the lousy summer! A very good illustration of a nice moment!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous atmosphere and great 'on the wing' shot! agree with Steve Buser about the 19th centuary romantic feel...
ReplyDeleteGeez! Until I clicked on the photo to enlarge it, those pigeons looked like some amorphous gray glob set upon taking over the world, one swirl at a time. Neat photo!
