Ham Copse sunset - # 08/26

...another little sunset shot as we rest for the weekend. On Monday we'll be back sorting through the mud and muck finding more flotsam and jetsam in Brentford.

  1. It looks like someone is standing in the dark, watching and wanting to go to that house in the back, in teh warm evening sunlight.

  2. This shot is almost perfect. The illumination in the foreground could have been a tad more but maybe not. I can see what my eyes would have seen had I been standing there beside you. No, come to think of it now, I think you hit the nail on the head. A perfect shot.

  3. Nicely caught, although I have the same kind of feeling as Abe. However I think the contrast with the sunlight area is necessary so I would have gone with cropping it a bit closer to get rid of some of the dark foreground. I realise the idea is the small patch of highlight amongst the greater gloom, but it gets lost a little bit. Would work better in a large print but not so well on the screen

  4. Your trees and mine today look quite similar. Yours in sunset light, mine at sunrise. Same take on light...

  5. Looking at it again, you really achieved a 'Sleeping beauty castle' effect here, with the incredible mass of branches blocking the way to the golden castle in the distance...

Left a comment on your barge shot too.

  6. A nice weekend break! (... well earned after all the mud and junk.)

  7. @Everyone.....thank you. I have noticed that on different screens the darkness is not always the same. But you are right.....It's too dark: I agree - (but better on my own screen). However, you all seem to give it general approval, so: Thanks!

  9. It looks like to me a great picture. I like the mistery and the calme. Good angle.
